Kindred Practice
Client Portal

A place for your clients, between sessions

The work doesn't stop when the session ends. The client portal gives your clients a secure, personal space to stay connected to the work - on their terms, in their time.

Client Portal

The space between sessions is part of the work too.

Therapy happens in the room. But so much of what shapes a client's progress happens in the hours and days around it - the moments of reflection, the questions that surface, the things they want to remember from last week. For some clients, having a supported space to hold that between-session experience matters deeply.

The Kindred Practice client portal gives your clients somewhere to land outside of sessions - a secure, private space that holds their resources, their history, and their connection to the work you're doing together. How much or how little they use it is entirely up to you and them.

What's included

Secure, private access

Each client has their own private portal - password protected, encrypted, and accessible from any device without downloading an app. It's simple enough that clients who aren't especially tech-comfortable can navigate it easily, and secure enough that sensitive material stays safe.

Client summaries

After a session, Paige can generate a plain-language summary - a version of the session's key themes and reflections written for the client rather than the clinical record. You decide whether to share it, review it first, or adjust it before it lands in their portal. For clients who benefit from having something to return to between sessions, it can be a meaningful touchpoint. For those who don't need it, it simply isn't there.

Intake forms and onboarding documents

New clients can complete consent forms, review practice policies, and fill out intake forms through the portal before their first session - at their own pace, from wherever they are.

Secure messaging

Clients can reach you through the portal's encrypted messaging - separate from email, separate from text, and entirely within a PHIPA- and HIPAA-compliant environment. You set the boundaries around how and when you respond. The channel is there when you want it, and the parameters are always yours to define.

Mood and progress tracking

For clients and therapists who find value in tracking mood, goals, or reflections over time, the portal includes optional logging tools. Clients can record how they're feeling, note what they're noticing, or track progress toward goals they've set in collaboration with you. This data belongs to the client and can inform the clinical conversation - but only if that fits how you work.

Appointment visibility

Clients can see their upcoming appointments, request scheduling changes, and receive session reminders - all from within the portal. Less back-and-forth, fewer missed appointments, and a cleaner experience for everyone.

How it works

βœ‰οΈ

Clients are invited when they're onboarded

When a new client joins your practice, they receive a secure invitation to set up their portal. Onboarding documents and forms are waiting for them there - completed before the first session, without a single email attachment.

πŸŽ›οΈ

You control what they see

The portal reflects your clinical choices. Share a session summary, open a messaging channel - or keep things simple. Each feature can be enabled or not for individual clients, so the portal adapts to your approach rather than prescribing one.

🌱

Clients engage at their own pace

The portal is available whenever a client wants to use it - to read a summary, revisit a message, log a reflection, or check their next appointment. There's no requirement to engage. It's simply there, in the background, when it's useful.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The portal is encrypted end-to-end and built to meet PHIPA requirements in Canada and HIPAA requirements in the US. Client data is private, access is controlled, and nothing is shared outside the platform.

No. The portal is fully browser-based and works on any device - phone, tablet, or desktop. Clients access it through a secure link with their login credentials. No app store, no installation.

Yes. Each feature in the portal - messaging, summaries, reflections - can be enabled or disabled per client. The portal reflects your clinical approach, not a one-size-fits-all template.

Client summaries are plain-language versions of session themes, generated by Paige from your clinical notes. They're written for the client - in client-friendly language - and are entirely optional. You review and approve any summary before it reaches the client, and you can edit or withhold it at any time.

You can send your client a message that includes uploads or links to resources - worksheets, readings, guided exercises, or anything else - and deliver them directly to a client's portal. You can add them at any time, and clients can access them whenever they choose.

Clients can see their upcoming appointments and request changes through the portal. Depending on your scheduling settings, they may be able to book directly or send a request for you to confirm. Either way, it reduces the back-and-forth around scheduling.

The work continues beyond the room. The portal holds it.

Give your clients a supported space between sessions - and give yourself a portal that works the way you do.

You deserve a platform that works as hard as you do.

Kindred Practice is built for the human doing the work - not just the practice they're running. Try it free for 14 days, or talk to us first. Either way, we're glad you're here.
